Dr. Noris Price - Superintendent, Baldwin County Schools

    Dr. Noris Price has served as the Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools since July 1, 2014. Prior to this appointment, she served as Deputy Superintendent of the Clarke County School District, where she helped to develop and to implement school and system-wide improvement efforts. She started with the Clarke County School District in 2007 as an Associate Superintendent for Instructional Services and School Performance. Under her leadership, all elementary schools made Adequate Yearly Progress for the 2010 and 2011 school years, and the district was named the Title I Distinguished District 2010, an honor indicating the school district was number one in the state of Georgia for closing the achievement gap between economically disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged students.

    Dr. Price has more than 30 years of experience in public education. She was an elementary school teacher in New York City and Fairfax, Virginia and an Assistant Principal and Principal in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Price moved to Georgia in 1997. For 10 years, she served as principal for Woodland Elementary Charter School in Fulton County. During her tenure,the school made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), the state's measure of achievement under No Child Left Behind, every year. In addition, the school was named a Title I Distinguished School and received the Georgia School of Excellence Award, as well as the National PTA Parent Involvement School of Excellence Award.  

    Dr. Price has received numerous awards and honors, including the University of Georgia Johnnie V. Cox Leadership Award , the American Association of School Administrators Women in School Leadership Award, the Distinguished Title I District Award for Closing the Achievement GAP, the Georgia PTA Outstanding Principal, a National PTA Lifetime Membership, and the GAESP School Bell and Educational Patron.  

    Dr. Price has served on various boards, including the Advisory Board for the Georgia State University Principals' Center, the Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Supervisors, Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals, and the Georgia Charter Schools Association. She has also been a presenter at local, state, and national conferences.  

    Dr. Price earned a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, a Certificate in Educational Leadership from George Mason University in Virginia, a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Lehman College of the City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Wilmington College in Ohio.  

    Dr. Price believes that public education is still the greatest option for America's children to receive a quality education. Through public education, any child, regardless of their race or socioeconomic status, can become a productive member of society and achieve the American Dream.  

    Dr. Price is married to Dr. Anthony Price, a high school principal, and they have a son, Juan Carlos Price, who recently graduated from Auburn University.

Baldwin High School Mascot Advisory Committee

Superintendent Dr. Noris Price will establish the Baldwin High School Mascot Advisory Committee (BHSMAC) to research and provide her with recommendations on the BHS mascot. The Baldwin County School District is currently seeking members to serve on the BHSMAC. This committee will sponsor community listening sessions to foster constructive dialogue and solicit input on the BHS mascot. In addition, the committee will also research current state and national trends on the issue and deliver recommendations to the superintendent. The Baldwin County School District is seeking persons from the following groups to serve on the committee:



A)  Baldwin HS and Oak Hill MS students,

B)  Baldwin HS and Oak Hill MS parents,

C)  Baldwin HS and Oak Hill MS staff members,

D)  Baldwin High School Alumni, and

E)  Civic/Business/community members.


BHSMAC members must meet the following criteria:

1.  A demonstrated commitment to Baldwin High School and Oak Hill Middle School.

2.  Persons who are actively involved in Baldwin High School and/or Oak Hill Middle School  activities, programs, etc.

3.  Persons who can serve on the committee for 4-6 months.

4.  Persons who can attend 2 or more meetings a month.
